Experience
UX designer / Business developer
IntenseMay 2022 – current

With my design background and focus on the users and their needs, I contribute to identifying strategic opportunities and simplifying complex problems into compelling design solutions. I employ my UX/UI design skills by conducting user research and translate insights into interactive prototypes in Adobe XD. Being part of the business development team, I spot opportunities, validate propositions, develop business strategies and build relationships with companies.

In addition, I was involved in burnout prevention research which was conducted in collaboration with BakkerElkhuizen and funded by The Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO). The research objectives are 1) determine the accuracy of the models in a work environment and 2) discover the best moments to propose a break.

Intense is an interdisciplinary studentteam of the TU/e and in transition to a professional start-up. Intense develops software that analyses the rhythm of keyboard presses and mouse movements. The software can be used for continuous authentication and stress detection at an early stage.

Service/UX designer
OSAGEJuly 2021 – June 2022

As designer/ consultant I conducted (UX) research and spotted opportunities for organisations to improve their efficiency or effectiveness in a specific area. And translated these findings in designs and/or consultation reports. For example, for the Central Government Real Estate Agency I worked on improving their digital service.

Service/UX design intern
OSAGEFebruary – June 2021

During my internship I supported the team in preparing and facilitating workshops and sessions with clients, such as Ministry of Justice and Security, The Province of Groningen and HU University of Applied Sciences Utrecht. I also contributed to qualitative user research through interviews and observations. Through a design collaborative process, involving the client, their users and other actors I created service blueprints, personas and customer journeys etc. Furthermore I designed user flows for new features on FinancialLease.nl, resulting in an interactive prototype created in Sketch.

R&D intern
PhilipsSeptember – December 2019

During my internship at Mother & Child Care, Smart Feeding Solutions Venture, I executed UX Research and Design and translated one of my ideas to an invention disclosure. I conducted an online questionnaire to investigate which tensions and problems are most present with breast pump users. With more than 1000 respondents, my findings were used to identify next steps and directions for Philips AVENT to continue in. Finally I did a design exploration for an app connected to a physical Philips product.

Volunteer work
Founder / coordinator at Repair Café Bunnik
Stichting Repair Café2021 – current

By running a Repair Café in my town, I actively contribute to a more sustainable society where repair expertise is cherished and passed on. In addition, the Repair Café strengthen social cohesion by connecting neighbours through repairing.

As founder of a local Repair Café, I held orientation meetings with potential partners and financial backers. The town council was willing to financially back the initial stages. I managed coordinating tasks such as maintaining contact between participating organisations, recruiting volunteers and keeping updates of everything that has been done and that still needs doing. Also, I was responsible for planning and managing online and offline campaigns to promote Repair Café Bunnik. This included creating and distributing content for social media channels and keeping close contact with the local newspaper. Repair Café Bunnik website and Instagram.

The Repair Café Foundation provides support to over 2400 Repair Cafés across the world. A repair café brings back repairing into local society, maintains repair expertise and spread this knowledge and improves social cohesion in the local community by connecting neighbours from very different backgrounds and with different motives with each other through an inspiring and low-key event.

Research Manager
AdoptiepediaSept 2021 – current

Being part of the research team as Research Manager, I was responsible for the management and coordination of research projects, motivating the team and evaluation of the progress with the team and board on regular basis. I worked on shaping and defining the foundation’s research vision and mission and created goals with the team to work toward achieving these aspirations.

Also, I was actively involved in market research by facilitating a customer journey session with adoptees revealing adoptees needs and opportunities for the foundation.

In addition, I provide input for the realisation of the expertise centre for intercountry adoption from the very beginning.

The Adoptiepedia Foundation provides support, aftercare and safety to Chinese and Taiwanese adoptees. The foundation does this by means of (research)projects, activities and a website to create as many possibilities as acceptance, connection and recognition.

External affairs at ID Career committee
Study Association Industrial Design LucidOctober 2020 – July 2021

Being part of the ID Career committee as External Affairs, I was responsible for contact with companies or other external parties and the communication between external party and committee.

ID Career works together with companies and presents Industrial Design students with possible career opportunities and an insight of the ID business landscape. The committee organises career related activities such as lunch lectures, studio visits and the internship dinner.

Team coordinator
Stichting MoveOctober 2019 – March 2020

Being part of the student team as Team Coordinator, I was responsible for keeping the project flowing harmoniously from start to finish. I often reported the status of the project to the Project coordinator and performed administrative duties, such as scheduling meetings, creating agendas and defining an action plan.

During this Move Project, the team of five Industrial Design students helped children from a primery school class in a deprived neighbourhood in Eindhoven learn what possibilities they have in society by improving their neighbourhood.
